Boyd S2 Restoration Progress

The engine on my S2 is almost ready for reassembly. Rebore, valves, rod bearings, water distribution tube, new Librenjak aluminum head are all on hand. Main bearings 1 through 3 at .010 under are there two, but we could not find a .010-under thrust bearing, just a standard. The engine shop recommended having the No. 4 crankshaft journal welded up and then reground to standard size. This is an increasingly rare skill, and I drove the crankshaft about 100 miles to Anaheim to a shop that can do it. We are waiting for a call to say it's ready. Much of the restoration is complete, but after engine and trans install, we still need glass and interior. Praying it's ready by Chico!
